Pink to Be Launched By Microsoft

Microsoft Corp. is planning to launch a new set of mobile phones which would be capable of social networking.

The product would be aimed at luring younger customers who are always waiting to try new gadgets available in the market.

Based on a fresh project of Microsoft development, the new phone which has been christened ‘Pink’ would probably be available in the US markets towards the later part of this month. The project is in progress under a partnership with Verizon Wireless.

Microsoft’s launch of the new handsets is a clue that the software developer is now keen on getting involved in the hardware side of handset business.

This move may also be due to a feeling of developing those products for consumers which can give them enjoyment and a nice experience when they use the product.

Microsoft has designed hardware, the software, and online services for this new handset whereas Sharp Corp. of Japan is in the process of manufacturing the equipment for the same.

The project is a mock-up of one product which had been used to develop a gadget known as the Sidekick.
